Keep the story going
Thank you to our volunteers for everything you've given to your Chapter One children this year. As the school year ends, here's how to keep the story going over summer - for you, your family, workplace or community
Read this summer
You don't need to look far for inspiration. The Reading Agency's Summer Reading Challenge for children and young people, Read to the Beat, is live now either online or at your local library. The National Year of Reading's Go All In website also has reading guides and recommendations for every age. Pick up something for yourself too - reading is reading, whatever page you're on.
Turn your reading into fundraising
Fancy setting yourself a challenge this summer - and raising a little for Chapter One while you do it? A few easy ways to get started:
Sponsored read or sponsored book - ask friends and family to back you per book, or per page
Literary quiz - host one with your team, book club, or over drinks
Book swap with donations - bring books you've finished into the office, small donation to take one home
Bookworm bingo - a card of small reading challenges, pledge per square completed
The Artemis Charitable Foundation is going all in for the National Year of Reading with a year-long Charity Readathon Challenge - £25 pledged per book read. So far, 70 colleagues have read 386 books, raising £2,412.50 for Chapter One. Your fundraiser doesn't need to be that big to make a difference - check out these simple and fun ideas in our Summer Reading fundraising toolkit.

What I'm reading this summer: [book title]. Keeping the story going before I'm back reading with my new @Chapter One UK pupil in September. What's on your list? #GoAllIn #NationalYearOfReading
Suggestion 2 - "See you in September"
Format: Proud Chapter One volunteer graphic
Caption copy:
[A sentence or two about what reading means to you]. This year I read with a child who needed someone in their corner. I'll be back with @Chapter One UK this September - and I can't wait. As an online reading volunteer, I spend just 30 minutes a week helping a child build their confidence and discover the joy of reading. Every session makes a difference. With the National Year of Reading aiming to inspire thousands of community reading champions nationwide, there's never been a better time to get involved. How will your workplace meet the moment? #GoAllIn #NationalYearOfReading
See you in September
